Register a Team

Teams wishing to enter the Manchester Area Basketball League must complete a MABL Team Registration Form, which can be requested from the League's General Secretary.

Team registration usually opens during July ahead of the new season. Completed registration forms and the required MABL league fees must be received by the registration deadline for a team to be considered for inclusion in the forthcoming season.

Teams entering MABL are expected to have suitable arrangements in place for their home fixtures, including:

  • a suitable home venue with compliant basketball court markings;
  • a home playing kit and a contrasting away playing kit;
  • a competent table official available for home fixtures; and
  • arrangements to pay appointed match officials before the game tips off.

Submitting a registration form does not automatically guarantee entry into a competition. League places and divisional arrangements are confirmed by MABL ahead of each season.

Basketball England and PlayHQ Registration

All clubs, teams and players participating in MABL competitions must also be appropriately registered with Basketball England through PlayHQ.

MABL team registration and Basketball England registration are separate requirements.

Once a team's MABL registration has been received and its entry is being processed, MABL will invite the relevant club team or individual team to join the appropriate MABL competition within PlayHQ.

Players must then be correctly registered through PlayHQ before participating in MABL fixtures.
