About the Manchester Area Basketball League

Providing competitive basketball across Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas since 1958.

Established in 1958, the Manchester Area Basketball League (MABL) is a long-standing open-age basketball league serving Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas.

For more than six decades, the league has provided competitive basketball for clubs and players across the region while supporting the continued development of grassroots basketball in the North West.

MABL currently operates three Men's Divisions and one Women's Division, providing regular competitive basketball throughout the season. Alongside the league programme, clubs also compete in cup competitions and the season concludes with our Playoff Finals.

Our season typically runs from September to May, bringing together players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters from basketball clubs across the region.

MABL remains committed to providing an organised, competitive and enjoyable environment in which basketball can continue to grow.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Support grassroots basketball while connecting with an active local sporting community.

Established in 1958, MABL is one of the region's longest-running open-age basketball leagues, with Men's and Women's competitions involving teams from across Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas.

Each season, from September to May, the league organises a substantial programme of league fixtures alongside cup competitions and end-of-season Playoff Finals.

We welcome sponsorship opportunities from businesses and organisations looking to support grassroots basketball while gaining visibility within an active local sporting community.

Sponsorship could include support for league competitions, cup competitions, Playoff Finals or other league initiatives.

Businesses or organisations interested in discussing sponsorship opportunities are invited to contact the Manchester Area Basketball League for further information.
