Team History

The Manchester Lynx Womens Basketballl Club is Manchester's only women's LGBT basketball team. We formed back in August 2008 and we have grown into a bigger, stronger and more advanced squad. In 2011, we won Bronze at the MABL tournament and we also won the Bronze Cup at the Panteresports tournament in Barcelona.

Formerly known as the Slam Dunkin Divas, we have participated in a number of international tournaments, including the World Outgames in Copenhagen (2009), the Gay Games in Cologne (2010), the EuroGames in Rotterdam (2011), the EuroGames in Budapest (2012) and the Berlin Basketball Tournament (2012), where we finished third.

During 2011-2012, we participated in England Basketball's Founders Cup and we joined the Manchester Area Basketball League, where we came joint third in the Ladies Division.

Our main training session takes place on Tuesdays, 7-9pm at Loreto High School in Chorlton. Our sessions are led by qualified coaches and it is guaranteed that new attendees walk out of the session with new skills, abilities and new friends! We plan and tailor the sessions according to each player's needs.

We are a multinational team with players from England, Wales, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Russia and the USA. We are a very diverse team as well, comprising of mums, teenagers and an age range of 16-50.
